Follow on Google News | Former Barracuda Bay Motel Under New Ownership, Name Changes to A1A MotelBy: Jeff Meyer Flagler Beach, FL – Jeff Meyer and business partner Tom Hughes are pleased to announce that they have purchased the former Barracuda Bay Motel in Flagler Beach and renamed it the A1A Motel. The former Barracuda Bay Motel, located on South Oceanshore Blvd/A1A, was built in 1953 and was named Chalmar A1A Motel. It was owned by a Mr. and Mrs. Harrison back then, and in 2005, it was sold to Mr. Timms who renamed the establishment Barracuda Bay Motel. With this recent sale, the new owners renamed it A1A Motel. “Everyone knows where A1A is and with the motel located directly on A1A, we thought the name A1A Motel was fitting,” said motel manager Danny Meyer. “When we found out that the website www.A1AMotel.com was available, that confirmed our decision,” he added. The new owners have replaced the sign, painted the outside of the building, as well as the inside of all of the rooms. They have replaced flooring to include tile floors in all the rooms. They have also landscaped the courtyard with palm trees and river rock, and have brought in sand for an ‘island feel’. The owners have engaged St. Augustine artist Sherry Waldman of Refunk Your Junk and she will be creating a ‘theme’ for each room. The motel is located at 1204 South Oceanshore Blvd. in Flagler Beach and is open 24/7. The motel offers ten rooms that include a choice of one king bed, or two full beds, with and without a full kitchen. Amenities include a 100% smoke free motel, big screen TVs, beach front access, microwave, 24-hour front desk, outdoor sundeck, WiFi and more. The staff and owners offer a clean and family friendly experience near the beach. They can be reached via phone 386-439-2359 or via the web at http://a1amotel.com/ End
