GOTAFE in conjunction with Federation University Australia is now taking mid-year applications for its innovative new tertiary program, which has so far received rave reviews from current students.

Serving the region of North-Eastern Victoria, GOTAFE launched the new breed of tertiary degree program this year, in order to provide regional and rural Victorians with more choice when it comes to obtaining an undergraduate degree within their local community.

GOTAFE Commercial Manager for Business and IT, Joanne Craig said students are clearly benefitting from the new delivery methods and enhanced services, which cater specifically to the unique needs of regionally based individuals.

“The feedback the program has received thus far has been incredibly positive and we expect that locally, it will be a big success. We’re happy to report that at this stage, as we’re taking mid-year applications, we’re seeing a strong amount of interest from across the region,” Craig said.

Craig says that from the outset, their aim was to boost higher education in regional Victoria.

“To achieve this, we’ve specifically tailored the structure of our courses so that local students are offered the flexibility and one-on-one attention they deserve, at an affordable cost. We know that a key determinant of regional economic development is the knowledge and skills with which people contribute to society and the economy and with that in mind, we’re working towards a brighter future for the local community.”
