PYO visitors often call in at the award-winning Farm Shop. It’s known for local produce and speciality food and drink. Why not get some fresh cream or ice cream to go with your freshly picked fruit? There’s also a restaurant in the spacious and contemporary Garden Centre, serving delicious home-style lunches, or treat yourself to tea, coffee and cake.
Garsons has been growing since 1871. As well as being the biggest PYO farm in the country, it’s also been judged as the best. The farm was voted PYO of the Year in 2013, which was the fourth time it has won the coveted title.
The Thompson family has been trading at Garsons Farm since 1871, first as market gardeners, supplying produce by horse and cart to Borough Market in London. Over the years, Garsons has evolved into the award-winning Garden Centre, Farm Shop and PYO. It’s still a family-run business and is now run by the Thompson family’s fifth and sixth generation.
Garsons is at Winterdown Road, West End, Esher. It’s open seven days a week and provides an enjoyable family day out in the countryside. Open 9am to 6pm in summer (11am to 5pm on Sundays) and 9am to 5pm in winter. Popular events through the year include heavy horses ploughing the fields and visits from petting farms.
