Core Health Technologies expanded what was formerly named the HL7 Compensation Survey to include more variables around compensation that affects healthcare integration professionals. The results provide the market with a real-time snapshot of trends that impact healthcare organizations’ Several observations in this year’s survey show new market trends including: - Interface engine usage is diverse with indications of changes in engine usage. The Orion Rhapsody engine showed growth from 8.5% to over 11% participants’ - Compensation is NOT the number one variable in consultants or candidates selecting their next opportunity. Consultant and full-time participants both report that they consider a more broad set of variables when selecting their next engagement or job. Only 6.7% of consultants and 7.7% of perm employees report that compensation is their top consideration. - FHIR is still in nascent stages of understanding and perceived value. Participants indicate that they do not yet fully understand HL7 FHIR (pronounced “fire”) with 80.9% of consultants and 74.8% of full-time employees reporting they have weak or non-existent experience with FHIR. Only 13.7% of consultants and 7.8% of full-time employees perceive FHIR to have strong value in the future. - Consultants are trending toward W2 Contract vs. 1099. Consultants reported a 19.1% growth in two years from 54% to 73.1% of consultants working through W2 contracts as opposed to independent 1099 consultants.
