PITTSBURGH - July 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Barbara T. Cerny grew up in Grand Junction, CO, enjoying classes in journalism, drama, and marching band / orchestra. However, in college, she received an Army scholarship and went on to study computer science, robotics, and artificial intelligence, leaving journalism and writing as a distance memory. After nearly eight years, Barb left the active duty Army and joined the Army Reserves, retiring after twenty-two years and as a lieutenant colonel. Her highlight: a year stationed in Korea the year the Olympics were there…and the shopping!. Her lowlight: a year deployed to Kuwait, away from her husband and two small children. However, the year deployed allowed her the time to write and she penned her first historical romance, Of Angels and Orphans, half of her second romance, Grays Hill, and started The Tiefling. Barb has also authored Tressa, her third historical romance and branched into fantasy when her daughter wanted her to write something a teen would read. So she wrote Shield of the Palidine and its sequel, Magic Thief of Gavalos, and will someday write two more in the Palidine series. Balancing a full time job as a civilian at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, a full life that includes ballroom dancing, folk dancing, choir, a husband, and two teenage girls with all their activities, Barb somehow finds little bits of time to write—her true dream job.

In The Tiefling, Branan Lachlan is transformed by the devil, betrayed by God, and made to battle demons with naught but his Scottish wit.
