The Ixl Company discusses how to pass an interview with flying colours

The Ixl Company, a sales company based in South Quay, have recently increased their sales team by almost half and moved into larger offices. With millions of people looking for work in London, The Ixl Company give tips on how to ace an interview.

CANARY WHARF, U.K. - July 1, 2014 - PRLog -- The Ixl Company’s recent expansion in South Quay, London, involved a huge amount of interviewing to find the right applicants for their openings, but with so many millions of people unemployed and looking for jobs, what is it, that a company like The Ixl Company is looking for? “Many people looking for a job do not realize how important it is to make a great first impression, they say that it takes just 5 seconds to make an impression on someone, so everything counts at the start of an interview” says Sam Mouden, Managing Director of The Ixl Company, South Quay. The Ixl Company goes into more detail about how important your first impression is by adding “Suit, CV, Cover Letter. The 3 first and most important things to remember when attending an interview, especially at The Ixl Company, next is your body language and your introduction, do not be afraid to shake hands of everyone and anyone you meet and state your name, it is professional, shows confidence,  and is the best first impression you can make”.

Many applicants and job seekers lose out on openings due to lack of preparation, something that Sam and Michael, who are the managers that conduct interviews at The Ixl Company place at second of importance when attending an interview. “As an interviewer, you are looking for someone that is keen, not just to ‘get a job’ but keen on the opening available, the company as well as their goals and achievements. Basic research is essential, for example check out their website to find out all you need to know and you will be more than prepared for an interview, to go that extra step, go onto social media of the company to get to a more personal level of the company, re-read the advert and prepare a list of questions to ask so that it shows you have researched and that you are interested in more than just a job” says Michael Ashaye, Manager at The Ixl Company.

Turning up looking smart, on time with a CV, cover letter and a good amount of preparation seems like a good start for sailing through an interview, but what is it that makes you stand out and be taken to the next step of interviewing? “Enthusiasm is key. Applicants often confuse this with a big smile and saying how hard they can work. But to really show enthusiasm you have to not only show enthusiasm in yourself and your abilities, but your enthusiasm of the company itself and the openings, and most of all, actually mean what you are saying, as right as you may be for the company, the company also needs to be right for you.” says Sam Mouden, Managing Director of The Ixl Company. “Interviewers are not looking for a generic answer to a question, they are looking for you to tailor your personality and experience to the role and company and have the ability to show why that means it should be you that is selected, that is real enthusiasm and that is what will get you selected. It’s a tough job market, and is increasingly more and more difficult to get a job, so the old ‘I can work well alone and in a team’ just won’t cut it in this generation”.

Finally, to really get you noticed The Ixl Company’s receptionist Emma gives one last piece of advice. “Be Yourself. Be Individual. Be Confident. Basics like be on time, eye contact and stand straight actually really help, show your personality - have a few positive stories to tell about previous work that shows you in a good light so that not only your experience but your personality is shining through. Remember that everyone you meet at an interview, the receptionist, the staff, the interviewer, even the cleaner are potentially people you could be working with on a daily basis, so being confident and being yourself with everyone that you meet is so important”.

The Ixl Company have regular openings available on Job Boards such as Reed, as well as on their website (www.theixlcompany.co.uk) because of their constant growth. With national plans for expansion by the beginning of 2015 they truly are expanding. Use their advice at other companies or try and bag yourself an interview at The Ixl Company.
