As a front-runner operation in solution development, integration and support, Accsys continues to underline the critical importance of skills development, learnership programmes and mentors in business.
The Company also emphasises the important role that technology can and does play in skills acquisition, people and career development.
Executive leaders from Accsys gave learners a guided tour through the offices, involving presentations by key personnel and they were given the opportunity to engage with department leaders to better understand Accsys’ operations.
Departments covered included support, sales, development and communications, which incorporate everything from front-desk operations right through to training, research and finance.
“The idea is that the learner will walk away from the experience with first-hand knowledge of a business environment. This helps them at a time when they are considering what to do with their lives after acquiring their education. We also underline the fact that they needn’t stop learning when they complete their schooling – training and internships at companies are a sure way to gain valuable experience and continue the education process,” says Teryl Schroenn, CEO of Accsys.
Learners were visibly impressed with the level of operation at Accsys and many confirmed that they had gathered meaningful information from the experience that will help them manage their careers in the future.
Gift Mamabolo from Alexandra High said the Programme is a great help, particularly to those who do not really know what to do after matric.
Linda Mhlambi from Wendywood High said, “I really had fun and enjoyed myself whilst learning a lot.”
Accsys’ contribution to this important initiative was extended beyond the Company’s head office and was also marked by the Cape Town branch.
Branch Manager Margaret Doyle hosted learners from Sinenjongo High School and offered them a glimpse of how a modern corporate is managed.
Management running the Cape operation described the day as a great success.
