Sulas Industries Receives Land Grant to Demonstrate HelioDrive Solar Tracking Technology

DENVER - June 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Sulas Industries Inc. today announced that the Town of Silverthorne, Colorado, has granted to Sulas a three-year, cost-free lease to use one-quarter acre of the Town’s property for the purpose of building a Solar Demonstration Garden where Sulas’ HelioDrive solar tracking technology will be tested and demonstrated.

The HelioDrive is a groundbreaking approach to solar tracking that uses no motors, gears or electronics. Instead, the HelioDrive’s patent-pending technology uses the power of the sun to generate hydraulic force thatcan rotate a collection of photovoltaic (PV) panels, allowing them to reliably and cost-effectively follow the sun and increase their energy yield.

Sulas plans to test three different sizes of the HelioDrive at the Solar Demonstration Garden, applying them to arrays consisting of 40, 20 and 2 solar panels. The Solar Demonstration Garden will be located next to Silverthorne’s North Pond Park and is expected to generate approximately 110% of the park’s electrical needs, thus creating a net-zero recreational area for the Town.

Three leading solar companies – Schletter Inc., New Energy Structures Company and RES Americas – have agreed to support the Solar Demonstration Garden with equipment and services.

“The Solar Demonstration Garden will be an excellent venue for us to test and validate the HelioDrive technology in anticipation of its commercialization,” said Fin Doyle, Sulas’ Founder and Chairman. “We are very grateful to the Town of Silverthorne for making the land available to Sulas, and to our partners at Schletter, NESCO and RES Americas for the invaluable assistance they are providing to make the Solar Demonstration Garden a reality.”

About Sulas Industries

Sulas Industries Inc. has developed a groundbreaking approach to solar tracking that uses no motors, gears or electronics. Sulas’ patent-pending HelioDrive technology uses the power of the sun, through simple optics acting on a small amount of phase change material, to generate the energy to rotate a collection of solar panels, allowing them to reliably and economically track the sun and enhance their energy yield.

The HelioDrive is highly scalable and has the potential to be cost-effectively applied to projects ranging from a single solar panel to large-scale utility level solar projects.By removing the cost and reliability barriers that have traditionally inhibited the use of solar tracking, and by significantly reducing upfront, operating and maintenance costs, the Sulas HelioDrive aspires to become the industry standard for dependable, cost-effective solar tracking.
