Managing Partner of Boston Creative Agency, 36creative, Puts Swing Set Together

WINDHAM, N.H. - June 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Recently, Steve Gabriel, managing partner of the Boston creative agency 36creative, decided that he would be able to perform a far better job of putting together a children’s outdoor swing set than the professionals from Home Depot. However, it would seem as though all he managed to achieve after a rather frustrating morning was an extremely sunburned forehead - as well as GoPro celebrity status with his neighbor.

The swing set in question was quite a cumbersome affair, consisting of a tower structure on one side and a set of double swings on the other. All in all, the set contained 75 pieces of wood, 450 screws, nuts, bolts and nails, a few other non-descript items and the actual swings – a total of 1700 individual pieces that required assembly.

While Gabriel had the opportunity to pay a mere $100 to have the swing set professionally assembled, he declined, obviously thinking that the job would be child’s play and that it would be assembled within a matter of a few hours. Unfortunately for him though, this did not prove to be the case, with him stating to a co-worker on the following Monday morning that “he didn’t know what he was thinking” at the time.

Meanwhile, a neighbor spotted Steve sporting a huge smile just before getting started with the project – obviously completely oblivious to what he was in fact letting himself in for. “I loved that part of my morning,” his neighbor Jeremy stated. “I made the same mistake three years ago so I knew what I was in for. I set up a GoPro, made a pot of coffee, and called my wife out to watch. The poor guy.”

In the past few weeks, Home Depot reported that 45 of these swing sets had been sold to an array of unsuspecting fathers. However, only five of them were smart enough to realize that it would probably be in their best interests to actually pay the $100 construction service fee – and avoid becoming the laughing stock of the neighborhood in the process.
