Follow on Google News | Crystal Cove Alliance Goes 'Back to the Beach' for 12th Annual GalaSignature event includes a spectacular sunset, dinner and dancing under the stars just steps from the shore
By: Crystal Cove Alliance For the last four years, the CCA gala was tented and held on the Crystal Cove blufftop. Each event has been a sold-out success, but this year is especially significant as it marks the first return to the beach, adjacent to the intricately restored cottages of the Historic District, since 2010. Interested sponsors are encouraged to reserve their tables now. Attendees will mingle on the beach, enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Montage Laguna Beach with what promises to be a spectacular sunset, followed by an al fresco three-course gourmet dinner prepared by Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Dubray of The Resort at Pelican Hill. Guests will be tempted by a silent and live auction, as well as an opportunity drawing for a three-night stay in Crystal Cove Cottage #14 “South Beach Suite” – one of the most popular restored oceanfront cottages. “This annual gala is a critical fundraising event for our organization and is essential to Crystal Cove Alliance’s ability to sustain our restoration and educational efforts,” said Laura Davick, CCA founder and director of external affairs. “We are thrilled to welcome our guests ‘Back to the Beach’ to enjoy an evening on the sand in the environment that is symbolic of our organization. Each year, we are grateful for the many generous leaders from our community who step forward as sponsors for this event and welcome new supporters to join this prestigious list.” Located between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, Crystal Cove encompasses 3.2 acres of coastline, 2400 acres of backcountry and 1100 acres of underwater park. CCA, in partnership with Crystal Cove State Park, preserves the natural resources, culture and history of the cove. In addition to restoring and managing the cottages, CCA educates more than 35,000 children through its ocean and land-based environmental programs. Sponsorship, underwriting and auction opportunities are still available. Gala sponsors to date include: The Resort at Pelican Hill, Tourbillon and OMEGA, Anonymous, HKA, Inc. Marketing Communications, Blue Star Yacht Charter – Passage West2, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel M. Brigham Jr., Montage Laguna Beach, Wendy & Rick Aversano, Firebrand Media LLC, First Foundation Bank, Mara & Keith Murray, McKenna Auto Group – Audi, Porsche, BMW, VW, Wendy & Fred Salter, Bank of the West Wealth Management, Tricia & Michael Berns, Fostering Executive Leadership, Dr. Tammy Wong, Gail & Dean Meredith, Natashia Palmaer, Teddie Ray, Roger’s Gardens, Joan Irvine Smith & Athalie R. Founded in 1999 by Laura Davick to stop a planned luxury resort from overtaking the area, CCA rescued the historic site and initiated one of the most successful public-private partnership models in the history of the California State Park system. Today, CCA has expanded its focus to include all 3.2 miles of pristine coastline, more than 3,700 acres of backcountry habitat and 1,100 acres offshore in the Underwater Park. CCA has turned Crystal Cove into a laboratory for developing innovative educational programs and experiences that promote science and environmental literacy to more than 1.5 million visitors and students each year. CCA’s conservation work insures access by a range of recreational enthusiasts while maintaining protection of critical habitat and protecting endangered and threatened species. The partnership between Crystal Cove State Park and the Crystal Cove Alliance has led to the renovation of 29 historic beachfront cottages now open for overnight stays, as well as historic education programs designed for the public. CCA is proud of the park receiving the prestigious 2007 Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation. A leader in fundraising, restoration, education and concession services, CCA is devoted to creating a sustainable future for Crystal Cove. Seventeen historic cottages remain to be restored.
