By: All Peoples Church & World Outreach,Bangalore In this message our goal is to (A) Learn What Jesus Taught About The Father's Works (B) Discover How Jesus Walked With The Father and (C) Learn how we can walk with the Father and Do His Works. This message is really a preparation for the season we will be entering into as a church, during the months of July-September. During Jul-Sep, will be learning, practicing and equipping ourselves in the area of "Ministering healing and deliverance" The Four Gospels The four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) all tell us the same story, but from four different viewpoints and to four different audiences. The gospel of Matthew was written by a Jew (Matthew, a Galilean Jew also called Matthew the tax collector), about a Jew, to other Jews, to show that in Jesus of Nazareth is found the fulfillment of all Messianic prophecy. There are more than forty Old Testament passages quoted in Matthew in connection with events of the life of Christ. The gospel of Mark was written to a Roman audience. In the book of Mark Christ is presented as the ideal servant. Luke, a physician, Luke has the distinction of being the only Gentile writer in the Bible. Luke sets forth the humanity of the Son of Man and presents in chronological order the life of Christ. Luke set out to be detailed in his writings. The whole purpose of the gospel of John was to show the Deity of Jesus Christ. Instead of giving the genealogy of Christ, John goes back into eternity. He captures how the Lord Jesus, as the incarnate Son of God, walked with the Father, seeing, hearing and doing what the Father desired. In this Study, we will spend much of our time in the Gospel of John, to learn from Jesus concerning the Father's Works. What Jesus Taught About The Father's Works The Lord Jesus came to do the Father's business (Luke 2:49) He came to do the Father's Will (Hebrews 10:5-7) He came in the Father's name (John 5:43). He revealed Sonship glory, "as of the only begotten of the Father" (John 1:14) He called the Temple "my Father's house" and demonstrated that healings were to be carried out in the Father's house (John 2:16, Matthew 21:12-14). Part of doing the Father's Works was to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) A Greater Witness Than The Prophet The Lord Jesus pointed to the works of the Father as a greater witness (testimony, proof, evidence) to who He is, than the testimony of John the Baptist, the greatest of the Old Testament prophets. In fact, when John the Baptist doubted, the Lord Jesus pointed to the works of the Father, as evidence (Matthew 11:1-5). Healing the blind man - doing the works of God The Works I Do Bear Witness of Me Believe Me for The Sake of The Works Seeing The Works Leaves Us With No Other Option How Jesus Walked With The Father How did Jesus walk with the Father? What was His relationship with the Father? We need to press in to walk in a similar manner with the Father. In the bosom of the Father The Healing of the crippled man at the pool of Bethesda His Doing His Teaching I Live Because of the Father Walking With The Father, And Doing The Father's Works Sent To Do The Father's Works Doing Greater Works Lets press in to walk as He walked with the Father and doing the Father's works We are called to walk with the Father, just as the Lord Jesus walked with the Father (1 John 2:6). The Father loves us just as He loved Jesus (John 16:26,27; John 17:23). Jesus expected that each time He prayed to the Father, it will be granted (John 11:41,42; John 6:11). He always expected His prayer to be answered. God invites us to walk in this same manner - that every time we pray, our prayer will be answered.
