CARLISLE, Pa. - June 26, 2014 - PRLog -- It’s been 100 years since John and Horace Dodge built the first Dodge Brothers vehicle, and while the history of the brand is long and storied, the modern era of the Chrysler/Mopar name has been paved by legends just as worthy of recognition. That recognition comes in the form of a special Mopar Hall of Fame induction, held as part of the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, July 11-13 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.  While the weekend event itself celebrates the overall history of the brand, the Mopar Hall of Fame, presented by Mopar Collector’s Guide, will honor names that today’s enthusiasts will recognize from the glory days of racing’s past as well as pop culture.

As has been the case since 2012, the Mopar Hall of Fame induction dinner and ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 12, at the Camp Hill Radisson Ballroom.  This year’s inductees include 11 humans and a legendary car, all of which have played key roles in the overall advancement of the brand through decades of excellence.

Inductees are Keith Black, Don Prudhomme, Don Grotheer, Butch Leal, “Mr. Norm” Krause, Bob Riggle, Shirley Shahan, Ramo Stott, Tom McEwen, Joe Smith, “The General Lee” and receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award – Herb McCandless.  Many of the inductees will also come to Carlisle for a taste of the show itself in front of their Saturday night honors.  Enthusiasts are encouraged to join tens of thousands of Mopar lovers throughout the weekend at the show itself, then on Saturday evening, cruise to the Radisson for the induction ceremonies and dinner.  The evening of honor includes special video showcases, speeches, a dinner and more. In all, this truly magical night honors the historical significance that each inductee has with the brand.

"Mopar Collector's Guide works hand-in-hand with the world's largest all-Mopar event – the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals - to give our honorees the weekend of a lifetime, help them reconnect with old friends, and bring you, the fans, the greatest number of our history makers and heroes for you to see in one place at one time,” noted guide representative Shirley Bencaz.  “By holding the induction during Chrysler weekend and coordinating our guests, we are able to ensure that the greatest possible number of fans are able to attend the induction and visit with our heroes.  This great partnership with Carlisle Events continues to improve and we are excited for this year’s events,” continued Bencaz.  “We'll be there with bells on, how about you?”

A separate admission cost of $99 per person, $150 per couple or $499 for a table of eight applies, but the night includes the ceremony and great food too!  Enthusiasts who are coming from Carlisle to the Radisson should allow about 30 minutes of travel time between locations. Anyone interested in attending can find more details via www.MoparHallofFame.com.  Once there, details on each inductee, plus directions and ticket information (including purchase deadlines) are available.
