Follow on Google News | Tecshoes plans to expand operations in Nicaragua in 2014The Brazilian footwear manufacturing company based in Nicaragua, Tecshoes Latinoamérica S.A., plans to expand its production structure in the course of 2014.
By: PRONicaragua Their 2014 project includes expanding their floor space from 11,000 m2 to 16,000 m2, and implementing a lean manufacturing and sustainability program, as well as developing a regional supply chain and start producing thermoplastic rubber (TPR), and ethylene, vinyl and acetate (EVA) shoe soles. For next year they are planning to add a leather finishing line to their production structure. Tecshoes operates under the free zone regime and their footwear production ranges from cutting to assembling. They currently have five production lines with a daily capacity of 5,000 pairs. By 2015 the company expects to have ten production lines with a daily capacity of 10,000 pairs. Tecshoes started to evaluate Nicaragua as an investment location after the recommendation made by Schmidt Irmãos Calçados, also from Brazil, which was the first industrial footwear company established in Nicaragua. Tecshoes visited the country for the first time in July 2011, expressed their decision to invest in August and started to operate in November of that same year under the trademark of Tecshoes Latinoamérica S.A.
