Cleveland to host world premiere of the Ashley Bouder Project

CLEVELAND - June 25, 2014 - PRLog -- CLEVELAND, June 25, 2014 – A Cleveland audience will be the first to witness some of ballet’s top talents as they debut The Ashley Bouder Project: An Exposé on Ballet Style at the Ohio Theatre, Playhouse Square at 8:00 p.m., October 25, 2014.  The production will feature Ashley Bouder, Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet and other stars from this world renowned dance company.  The performance is being made possible in-part by a generous donation from Forest City Enterprises.

“We are beyond thrilled to be partnering with Ashley Bouder and Phil Chan to present a performance of the highest caliber of professional ballet today,” said Jessica Wallis, Founding Director, Ballet in Cleveland.  Phil Chan is the General Manager of Youth America Grand Prix, the world’s largest student ballet scholarship competition.

The first act will feature grand classical and neoclassical works by ballet legends Marius Petipa and George Balanchine. The second act boasts a world premiere to the music of Shostakovich, performed by soloists from the Cleveland Institute of Music.  Dancers will perform to new choreography created for the project by Joshua Beamish, artistic director of MOVE: the company. Costumes are being created by B Michael America.

Tickets are on sale now at www.playhousesquare.org. VIP ticket packages are also available and include a pre-show reception, prime seating, and a post-show reception with the dancers and choreographer.
