'Trust Me - I'm Your Tour Manager' by Frank Faulkner

This is coupled with a wish to spend shorter periods away from home, to keep their feet firmly at ground level and give the responsibility for a trouble-free holiday to someone else. In "Trust Me - I'm your Tour Manager!" he combines his obvious love of travel with the proclivities of some of his customers, most of whom were companionable and appreciative people. It's the others he remembers.
Interspersed with his travel escapades are scenes from the life of a small-town boy growing up during WWII whose appetite for travel was whetted during a National Service which opened his eyes to exotic places on a troopship "cruise" to Korea and back.
After 30 years service in the Northamptonshire Police, from Police Cadet to Superintendent he found the freedom to pursue what he would have preferred to be doing all along - travelling. He has pursued this assiduously ever since.
He has based his whole life in his native Northamptonshire and is still trying to retire.
