Phoenix, AZ ̶ July 25, 2014 ̶ Madison Simis Elementary School received official notice that they have been authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School® in the Primary Years Programme (PYP)®. As an IB World School, Simis is now part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world. To become an IB World School offering an IB programme, Simis was evaluated by an external review team to verify that IB practices and programme requirements are in place.
The International Baccalaureate programmes aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
IB World schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Madison Simis believes is important for our students. Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate)
