June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Daystar Television Network has donated over $370,000 to Stella’s Voice, a ministry dedicated to ending human trafficking in the nation of Moldova. Daystar has long supported this ministry, and most recently issued a $10,000 matching donation challenge when the founders of Stella’s Voice, Philip and Chrissy Cameron, were guests on Daystar’s flagship program, Marcus and Joni. Partners and viewers of Daystar have continued to donate towards this ministry, bringing the total amount donated to over $370,000.

The money is being used to construct two new homes for 60 at-risk teens, all of whom have aged out of Moldova’s ramshackle orphanage system. The funds are also being used to construct a church and community center facility adjacent to the homes, with construction on all three buildings expected to be completed by summer of 2014.

Working with Philip Cameron and the Stella’s Voice organization, Daystar is now in the forefront of efforts to rescue Moldova’s burgeoning population of vulnerable orphan girls. Stella’s Voice began in response to the horrific conditions Cameron witnessed while visiting a Moldovan state-run orphanage. Not only are orphans neglected, abused, and mistreated, they are turned out at 16 years old.

An easy target, these orphans are often snatched by sex traffickers and sold for as little as $3,500. They are then used 30 to 40 times per day while their trafficker profits as much as $350,000 per year.

In 2007, Cameron opened Stella’s House, a safe house for aged-out orphan girls. The home gives orphans a chance at a new life. They receive their education, learn life skills, and function as a family.

In 2010, Simon’s House opened to house aged-out orphan males who are often sold into Russia. In addition, Cameron opened Stella’s House Two and acquired Cupcui Orphanage in 2011. The state-run orphanage was recently renovated and named Providence House and has the capacity to house 130 children.

“My heart’s desire is to offer a loving Christian home for every orphan in Moldova—all 12,500 of them,” said Cameron. “There is a place for every aged-out girl and boy to go.”
