Fourth of July Celebration at Pier 6

BOSTON - June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- On Friday,July 4^th, 2014 from 12:00PM to 1:00AMPier 6, Charlestown, MA’s scenic dining destination, invites guests to join them in celebrating the Fourth of July as The USS Constitution makes her annual turnaround cruise through the Boston Harbor.  ”Old Ironsides” has been making her voyage for over 60 years as a reminder of those who served, sacrificed and fought for our independence. This July 4th will be the last chance to see “Old Ironsides” in all her glory, as a three year restoration process will begin in 2015.

Beginning at 11:00AM, guests can stop by Pier 6 for a quick drink or bite to eat. All day long Executive Chef Adriano Silva will be serving seasonal specialties such as lobster chowder with manzanilla sherry, melted leeks, sweet potato and bacon ($12), Point Judith Calamari ($11) and Maine crab cakes with shaved asparagus & carrot salad, green garlic aioli ($11). Pier 6’s scenic patio bar will open early at 12:00PM for draft beers, wine or signature cocktails such as the Sailor Boy made with Hangar 1 Handmade Mandarin Vodka, St. Germaine, grapefruit juice and cucumber simple syrup ($12), the Boston Tea Party made with Brugal Extra Dry Rum, lemon juice, basil leaf, agave and unsweetened tea ($11) and the Sailantro with Maestro Dobel Tequila, pineapple juice, cilantro and agave ($13). Guests can also cool off with Pier 6’s new frozen drink menu featuring The Patriot, a red, white and blue frozen rum cocktail along with classics such as strawberry daiquiris, piña coladas and other specials.

As the daylight begins to fade, guests can order from Pier 6’s dinner menu featuring oysters from the raw bar ($2.75 each), a lobster roll made with house pickles, red cabbage slaw and fries ($24), pan seared cod with haricot vert, salsa verde and cauliflower puree ($22), the Pier 6 Burger with Vermont cheddar, bacon, house pickles and fries ($13) and a NY Strip Steak with ratatouille and chimichurri sauce ($30).  Dinner will be served from 5:00PM to 10:00PM. Guests may not have to move to see the fireworks which, depending on the weather, are visible from the patio bar. Fireworks begin at 10:30PM and the bar is open until 1:00AM.
