Enter the 4th Annual My WaterfrontBy: Waterfront BIA Visit the WBIA website to check out all the new photographs posted every week! MY WATERFRONT PHOTO CONTEST For four weeks starting July 1, photographs can be uploaded to the WBIA website. Participants can submit up to two photographs per week. To submit a photo and for complete contest rules, visit www.waterfrontbia.com. Submissions are accepted until each Monday at midnight: Week 1: Tuesday, July 1 – Monday, July 7 Week 2: Tuesday, July 8 – Monday, July 14 Week 3: Tuesday, July 15 – Monday, July 21 Week 4: Tuesday, July 22 – Monday, July 28 Photos that are uploaded will be held for up to one (1) week for review, with approvals finalized each Wednesday. Successful photos will then be displayed for viewing and voting each Thursday: Week 1 Voting: Thursday, July 10 – Wednesday, July 16 Week 2 Voting: Thursday, July 17 – Wednesday, July 23 Week 3 Voting: Thursday, July 24 – Wednesday, July 30 Week 4 Voting: Thursday, July 31 – Wednesday, August 6 Each Friday on the WBIA website, for four weeks from Friday July 18 through Friday August 8, the WBIA will give away a prize from either Centreville Amusement Park & Far Enough Farm, Couture Vision, Watermark Irish Pub & Restaurant or Yankee Lady Yacht Charters. Each photo submitted by the end of the applicable voting week (each Wednesday) will qualify for entry into a random draw for the selected prize, taking place each Friday. MY WATERFRONT PHOTO EXHIBIT AND ARTIST PREVIEW GALA At the end of the contest, a panel of esteemed judges will select 50 finalists from the My Waterfront Photo Contestto have their photo printed as a 24x36” poster and displayed inside the award-winning Queen’s Quay Terminal(207 Queens Quay West) as part of the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit running from September 26 through October 31. The 50 finalists will be invited to attend the Artist Preview Gala for the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit on Friday, September 26 from 6:00pm-9:00pm in Queen’s Quay Terminal. “Through the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit,amateur photographers have a chance to have their work showcased in a public forum,” adds Jolly. The Artist Preview Gala is part of the 2014 Culture Days weekend taking place coast to coast fromSeptember 26-28. Founded in 2009, Culture Days is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a national network of cultural connections devoted to providing Canadians with opportunities to participate in, and appreciate, all forms of arts and culture. Through an annual three-day national celebration each September, hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations in hundreds of cities and towns come together and invite Canadians to participate in free interactive and “behind the scenes” activities to discover their cultural spirit and passion. PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD - PUBLIC VOTING of 50 PHOTO FINALISTS On the evening of The Artist Preview Gala on September 26, guests will be able to participate in the public judging of the 2014 People's Choice Award. Everyone in attendance will be provided a ballot to pick their favourite photograph from the selected 50 Photo Finalists.
