NACOGDOCHES, Texas - June 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Texas Timberz may be one of the Texas Premier Soccer Leagues (TPSL) newest members but they haven't been shy when it comes to making waves on and off the field.

In the space of a few days, they will have played a warm up match against one of our founding members Houston Hurricanes before setting their sights upon Mexican giants Chivas Guadalajara.

The Timberz travelled across to Houston for their 2pm kickoff against the Hurricanes expecting and receiving a tough match, where just the one goal separated tthe two sides after the 90 minutes of play.

The 2-1 victory was decent preparation for the East Texas club who now face the task of facing the under 20 side from Mexican soccer giants Chivas Guadalajara in a rematch of last years first ever match for the Timberz.

Despite some city issues that has required the club to re-locate from Lufkin to Diboll for the 2014/15 TPSL season, Timberz will continue their march onward as they look to build their soccer empire for coming generations.

First and foremost is the small matter of the Chivas rematch this coming week, June 25th.

Such is the demand for the game, the match will be played at Homer Bryce Stadium, Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches where the impressive stadium will provide a tremendous atmosphere and occasion to the now annual match with their Mexican counterparts.

There is no playing down of the match by the Timberz staff, with the brains behind the organisation Marco Morales telling us, "Last year we had three weeks to prepare for this match and it was our first ever game as an organisation and soccer club. We have learned a lot over the past year and believe we will give a good account of ourselves in this years game."

"We moved the game to SFA purely from the increased interest we have had from the public. They have been great over our short existence and they are as excited as we are to play Chivas once again, hopefully we can give them something to cheer about!" he continued.

"This match is massive for East Texas. Chivas are the primary soccer club from Mexico and with the country doing so well in the World Cup in Brasil right now, interest in this match is huge. It's going to be a blast on Wednesday night no matter the scoreline." Marco said with a smirk in his face before muttering, "...as long as we win!"

Added Bonus

As an added bonus, Chivas of Guadalajara and Texas Timberz are coming together to bring the first professional soccer clinic to East Texas.

Gato López, coach of Chivas goalkeeper and Idol Ramon Morales will offer the clinic to 88 outfield players and 12 goalkeepers from 12 to 18 years.
