MANHATTAN, N.Y. - June 23, 2014 - PRLog -- El Gant hit the ground running in the early 2000′s and hasn’t looked back. Known for his impeccable delivery, the quick witted emcee would end up becoming a four time MTV Direct Effect Freestyle Champion. After gaining recognition and respect from the hip-hop community, El Gant was soon featured in a full page write-up in The Source (Magazine). El Gant boasts a prolific discography, which includes a host of 12-inch vinyl releases, features, mixtapes, albums, videos, internet leaks and so forth. Over the years, El Gant has collaborated with an array of iconic emcees and producers such as Kool Keith, Psycho Les of The Beatnuts, Smif-n-Wessun, Paul Nice, Ill Bill, El Da Sensei, Pacewon, J57 of the Brown Bag AllStars and many more.

El Gant’s debut LP, It’s Over was released on September of 2001 through Lightyear Entertainment. The album includes several underground bangers such as D.R.S. (Dangerous Rap Species), featuring El Da Sensei, Stratagee & Pace Won as well as “Freaks” featuring Kool Keith, the latter of which was later featured on Kool Keith’s Collabs Tape LP, released in June of 2006 through Junkadelic Music. The following year, El Gant was featured on The Beatnuts fifth studio album, The Originators, on the song “Bionic," which also included a cameo from Al Tariq.

Although El Gant’s previous releases and cameos were well received, El Gant’s notoriety reached new heights in 2003. On the very first Tuesday of January ’03, the Non Phixion famed Ill Bill released Ill Bill Is The Future Vol. 2 (LP), which features the fan favorite “Metal Music,” featuring El Gant. Just one month later, El Gant released  the acclaimed 12-inch single “Holdin It Down” which features both production and a guest feature from Psycho Les of The Beatnuts, B/W “Deliciously Different.” The record, which was released through Kut Masta Kurt’s Threshold Recordings, helped to establish El Gant as one of the more sought after battle emcees that would translate well from the spotlight, to retail. Shortly after, El Gant and his brother J Blanc, would launch their own label, Nacirema Music.  Their first release came in the form of a 12-inch Single “All That I Got”/”Pressure” which was released in the summer of 2004. In July of that same summer, El Gant released his sophomore LP, The Evolution of Execution, which featured both singles as featured on the aforementioned 12-inch in addition the fan favorite “Life,” which features J Blanc as both producer and guest emcee.

Over the next two years, El Gant was both touring and recording extensively. The New York native also had a passion for DJ’ing, where he would spin at various bars, lounges and clubs throughout the city. In promotion for El Gant’s extended play release, Quit Your Day Job, which was released towards the end of 2007, the Nacirema Music founder released a two part mixtape series titled, Hungry, Volume One and Volume 2, respectively. The first installment featured one of El Gant’s most widely acclaimed singles, “So Simple” , produced by J Blanc, which was previously released exclusively as a 12-inch single. The soulful, chopped up sample play composed by J Blanc, coupled with both El Gant and J Blancs seemless rhyme schemes detailing both there history and devotion for the culture, catapulted the Nacirema duo as one of the more burgeoning in-house emcee x producer duos in the underground.

Towards the end of 2007, El Gant was featured on rapper Bekay’s Rawkus 50 album, The Horror Flick LP, on the collab-heavy banger “Battlefield,” which features additional guest appearances from Eturnal, Mr. Met, One Dae & DJ Dutchmaster. The song was later remixed  by Australia’s Twice As Nice production duo, where it was featured on Bekay’s Horror Flick Remix EP (Coalmine Records). Over the next several years, El Gant has released several internet leaks and videos that were very well received, earning the veteran emcee placements on several Hip-Hop lifestyle websites and blogs such as HipHopDX, 2DOPEBOYZ, Smoking Section, Potholes In My Blog and Refined Hype, among others. One of the more notable videos is for the song "Problems," which is features both Tek (of Smif-n-Wessun) and J57, who also provides the production. This song is featured on El Gant’s most recent mixtape Rule By Secrecy, which is available for exclusive download, courtesy of DJBooth.net. The duo would reunite several times over the years in promotion for their currently unreleased joint album, Gibson Glover; twice in 2012 with The Iceman sampled "Say Hello To The Bad Guy," and shortly after with a freestyle of Slaughterhouse’s "Hammer Dance." The following year, the two would reemerge with the Sha Stimuli assisted "I Love Me," serving as the lead single in promotion of their still unreleased collaborative effort.

With the realization of a potentially compromised release of Gibson Glover, El Gant is eager to get new music to the masses. After recording several tracks over the years with the Albany-based producer, JOAT (Jack of all Trades), whose produced tracks for the likes of Ill Bill, La Coka Nostra, Vinnie Paz and more, the two decided to expand their effort into a full length LP, and so Beast Academy was born. Launching their album campaign in March of 2014 with their Albany-themed tribute "Five One Eight" featuring Giant Gorilla Dog Thing, the duo wasted no time in affirming that they aim to release one of the more aggressive, hard hitting rap albums of the year. Featuring guest appearances from New York staples such as Torae and Shabaam Sahdeeq, legends such as El Da Sensei, and upcoming stars like Chris Webby, Beast Academy was released to much acclaim on June 10, proving to the cynics that Boom bap is alive and well in 2014.

With over a decade of music released to the masses, El Gant manages to maintain his relevancy while broadening his soundscapes with rock, metal and blues influenced production. Keep an eye out as this New York giant makes his way to your city and stay tuned for more music, videos and content as El Gant continues to achieve greatness.
