Athletic Summer Camp for College-Bound Students Launched by Dual-Sport Record Holder AK Ikwuakor

MANCHESTER, N.H. - June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Camp AK is pleased to announce that they will be holding the first of three US-based camps for college-bound athletes at Livingston Park in Manchester, New Hampshire with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs starting July 14^th 2014.

Camp AK was founded in 2013 with their 2013 camp launch held in partnership with Philippines Magazine International hosting 75 children in Quezon City, Philippines by AK Ikwuakor (“Coach AK”), a former professional track and field athlete, four-time track and field All-American, Inspirational Award Winner, Certified Sports Performance Specialist, Certified NCAA Recruiting Coach, and current school record holder from the University of Oregon. AK Ikwuakor is also the Associate Dean of Students at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH. His personal experience and commitment to students of all ages has been his driving passion to create these unique camp programs which will help take college bound athletes to the next level while promoting the individual athlete’s character development, leadership and overall personal growth.

College-bound athletes are invited to start their journey with Camp AK starting July 14^th with the Level 1 (Foundation) weeklong course. This one-week camp is capped at 50 attendees and will include basic functional movement patterns (with individualized coach assessment), proper sprinting dynamics, basic nutrition for optimal fitness, restorative techniques, speed and reaction games, open competitive play, yoga, massage, tips on developing a training mentality, and an overview of college recruitment practices. The week ends with an open Q&A session for athletes and parents.

Once Level 1 is completed, the student can move forward with the Level 2 (Advanced) camp immediately following the first week, which includes specific program development and Level 3 the (Individualized) personalized plans with coaching, video analysis, training program, and a personalized nutritional plan.

Camp AK International was founded in August 2013 with the first camp being held in Quezon City, Philippines in partnership with Philippines Magazine International.
