CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - June 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Bill Holtzman started working for Mecco Marking & Traceability soon after he graduated from college four years ago. The Pittsburgh native has been part of only a small fraction of Mecco’s 125 years of serving the industry’s needs.

But Holtzman, 27, is another important part in a 125-year tradition of marking innovations. He’s been a solid fit for Mecco, a Cranberry Township-based business specializing in laser and dot peen marking systems.

“It’s a privilege to be the Sales Manager of a company who truly cares about its customers’ and potential customers’ goals and success, not just at the time of need, but in the future,” said Holtzman, who advanced from Sales Engineer to Laser Product Engineer to Sales Manager. “We listen to what the market needs, and respond. We continue to improve our technology and stay innovative not just to continue to drive sales, but to overcome some of the most difficult obstacles manufacturers have.”

Mecco President Dave Sweet appreciates Holtzman’s dedication and willingness to learn in an industry that relies on new and innovative technology.

“I am very excited to see Bill continue to grow with Mecco in this new capacity,” Sweet said. “Bill’s strong technical sales experience and commitment to education will help lead our sales organization as we continue to advance our product technology through our sales channels.”

Founded by Miles E. Cunningham in 1889 and incorporated in 1906, Mecco has led the way in industrial product marking and identification systems as marking techniques evolved from rubber stamps to steel stamps and metal marking to dot peen, bar code and laser marking.

In 1989, the company was granted a patent for indenting a bar code into the surface of an object. Mecco also was at the forefront of the technology known as “Bumpy Bar Codes,” which led to installations at world-renowned companies such as John Deere, Caterpillar and Cummins Engine.

Most recently, Mecco introduced its patent-pending, groundbreaking EtherMark, which facilitates integration of marking systems into factory automation networks using EtherNet/IP protocol.

“It is exciting to be a part of such an established name in the industry,” Holtzman said. “I view this as my opportunity to continue to build on that Mecco name and reputation. The people I work with at Mecco are the best of the best. The experience, you can’t find that anywhere else.”

“We listen to our customers and continue to improve the product to meet our customers’ needs,” added Holtzman, a graduate of Allegheny College and South Allegheny High School. “We’re coming out with products and solutions that are unlike any option out there. We listen. The communications platform, the EtherMark is just the most recent innovation. You want to make it easiest for the customers to be successful. Their success is our success.”

“My goal is to continue to educate and build our sales team and grow our sales channel. I want our team to understand our products in a technical way, not just to know our products at a high level, but to know the questions to ask our potential customers so we can provide the best solution for them. I treat every day as an opportunity to learn and grow. Aside from the people I work with and meet, that is what I love most about being in this position in this industry.”
