ACEDS appoints e-discovery and legal technology pioneer Scott M. Cohen, of Winston & Strawn, to Advisory Board

 
MIAMI - June 23, 2014 - PRLog -- The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (http://www.aceds.org/) today announced the appointment to its Advisory Board of Scott M. Cohen, Director of E-Discovery & Information Management at Winston & Strawn in New York.

Mr. Cohen, a leading authority on e-discovery, legal technology and information management, is a respected industry veteran who has worked consultatively with law firms and corporate legal departments to leverage technology across practice areas.

At Winston & Strawn, a 900-attorney international law firm, he manages a large, full-service e-discovery operation, two document review centers, and the firm’s trial support group.  Additionally, Mr. Cohen advises firm lawyers and clients on a wide variety of technical issues related to discovery in complex litigation.

A member of the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production, Mr. Cohen speaks and writes frequently on a variety of topics including e-discovery best practices, controlling legal costs, leadership development, performance management and staff mentoring in legal organizations.

Previously, he served as the Practice Support Director for Proskauer Rose where he developed the firm’s practice support department. Mr. Cohen was also a director of information technology at MetLife, where he was responsible for providing general technology and litigation support services to the corporation's large and geographically dispersed legal, records and internal audit departments.

Mr. Cohen joins a distinguished group of experts on the ACEDS Advisory Board who hold a variety of positions across the widespread e-discovery landscape. They include a former president of the American Bar Association, a former Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, and a member of the Federal Civil Rules Advisory Committee.
