Work Experience for Syrian Student at Bennington Green

June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- BENNINGTON Green were delighted to welcome a two week work experience placement student last month.

Hani Mazloum from Syria first approached Bennington Green at a careers evening held at the Bournemouth Collegiate School, earlier in the year.

At the event he expressed a desire to gain work experience and insight towards his chosen career of civil engineering.

He spoke at length at the event to Nigel Soloman who is himself a Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers and also the MD of Bennington Green.

Nigel said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Hani to the Bennington Green offices.  We made his time with us as informative as possible and also arranged for him to spend a day with the Poole Harbour Commissioners to see how they operate.  With the diversity and wide range of experience we have here, it’s a great place for Hani to learn the ropes and to understand the basics of how our consultancy works. I personally have spent many years working on large civil engineering projects overseas so hopefully I was able to inspire him towards a fulfilling career in the construction sector."

Nigel added: “Sadly, with the unrest currently in Syria, it’s inevitable that they will be requiring many different disciplines right across the whole property and construction spectrum when they come to start rebuilding their country in future years, and hopefully we’ve given Hani a helping hand in this regard.”

Background

Bennington Green was established in 1992 by Damon Green.

In August 2005, the company was acquired by Nigel Soloman, a Chartered Engineer, and Keith Kirkwood, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Bennington Green Ltd was created.
