According to recent TDG research, more than 60% of US broadband households have at least one TV connected to the Internet and can enjoy online media services such as OTT, meaning that of the circa 90 million US households that subscribe to residential broadband service, some 54 million now have access to movies and television programming from the Internet, all on their home TV — that’s four in ten US households.
This new win comes on top of recent announcement by the group of similar OTT hardware and software supply deals in Germany and Poland to content providers there.
The US company plans to roll out its OTT services in several countries over the next two years and PeerTV will be its exclusive set top box supplier.
