Christianity 100% Celestial and Shamanic, Says Author and Comparative Mythologist

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - June 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Paso Robles, California – June 22, 2014.  The story of Samson and the ninth chapter of Revelation are clearly based on zodiac constellations like Virgo, Leo, Cancer the Crab, Scorpio and Sagittarius and their neighbors in the sky – a pattern that repeats itself throughout the books of the Old and New Testaments, according to a new book entitled The Undying Stars: the truth that unites the world’s ancient wisdom and the conspiracy to keep it from you.

Author David W. Mathisen, a former instructor in the Department of English at West Point, says there is a clear pattern of celestial metaphor which underlies the stories in the Bible and which also clearly links them to other ancient sacred traditions around the world.  He says that you can find unmistakable parallels between the Bible stories and the myths of ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient India, and even the Norse mythology of Scandinavia, the mythology of Japan, and the sacred stories and traditions found in such widely-separated cultures as the Native tribes of North America and the peoples of Polynesia, Australia and Africa.

“We can trace the same characteristics in myths involving the zodiac sign of Virgo across cultures that were separated by vast oceans,” he explains, “and see that she plays a very similar role and that the myths contain parallels which are very difficult to explain by mere coincidence or even by Jung’s ‘collective unconscious.’”

He goes on to say, “These connections have profound ramifications, but for starters they suggest that the stories in the Bible are actually very closely related to the myths of ancient Greece or even the sacred traditions found in North America, which is very different from what we have been led to believe.”  In fact, he says, there is evidence that this celestial connection has been deliberately suppressed, and the supposed differences between the world’s sacred traditions used as a wedge to divide and ultimately to control.

“The Bible is actually esoteric and shamanic in nature.  This interpretation has not been widely understood, but it is an undeniable fact that even the apostle Paul discusses having what could only be called ‘out-of-body experiences,’ experiences which could even be described as ‘shamanic travel.’”

Mathisen believes that this information has powerful implications for our daily lives.  “For one thing,” he says, “if the stories of the Bible are primarily metaphorical and esoteric, then it means that teachings like the doctrine of hell could be completely mistaken, based on a literal misreading of a concept that actually involves the zodiac wheel – the lower half of the zodiac wheel, in the case of the doctrine of hell or Sheol or Hades or Tartaros.”

It even could have political implications.  “There is no question that the way we understand and interact with the world’s various sacred traditions can have a tremendous impact on the ‘lens’ we use to view world events, and the decisions we make and actions we take in a lot of fields of endeavor – including our relationship to government and policy.  Examining the evidence presented in The Undying Stars about a body of scriptures which has had such an enormous impact on human history and which continues to have a big impact to this day just makes sense, regardless of your current feelings about these texts.”
