US Testing Equipment Teams up with the US Tennis Association

VANCOUVER, Wash. - June 20, 2014 - PRLog -- US Testing Equipment announced today the release of the “Final Lessons Learned” White Paper resulting from its provision of security services for the 2013 US Tennis Open.  Working in collaboration with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), US Testing and the Metor 6WP walk-through metal detector manufactured by Rapiscan Systems were selected as the security system of choice by the governing body to handle the screening needs of over 700,000 attendees for the final event in Tennis’ Grand Slam.  Previously, the USTA had relied on visual checks to intercept contraband items however, they decided to deploy walk-through metal detectors for the 2013 event which struck a needed balance between effective detection and processing efficiency.

“We are honored to have been selected by the USTA for the technology and the expertise that we could bring to the project” said Reese Carpenter, President of US Testing.  He added that the major sporting event venues were a growing market for the company as it looks to replicate the success of the US Open.

Jason Allen, Regional Sales Director for US Testing, summed up the experience by saying, “While the first deployment of walk-through metal detectors at the US Open was a success it also gave us a significant learning experience for future deployments.  The issues and challenges faced during the open  proved that although events can all have similar security programs and similar security concerns each presents a unique challenge due to the number of variables that come into play”.
