Construction on the World’s Most Pet Friendly House begins in November, with the house set to open in June 2015 for a limited time of just thirty days. The pet-themed homed will be the envy of animal lovers across the world, with a built-in 265 gallon aquarium, abstract and contemporary pet art adorning the walls and a room specifically for dogs, with the coolest pet products from all over the globe.
The Professor’s House, which has a dedicated pet section on site, has partnered with 130 pet product manufacturers from 10 different countries, all of which will be helping to furnish the house with food, toys and storage. A doggie shower will also be custom built and added to the mud room while the house as a whole will be custom built to stand up to the rigours not just of mischievous pets but the demands of a busy family life.
The pet-lovers at The Professor’s House plan to use the fur friendly new abode to promote pet ownership, but there’s a more serious reason for the ambitious plan. David Beart, Founder of The Professor’s House is choosing to use the project to raise funds and awareness for charities close to his heart – with one of them being the Canadian Kidney Foundation after he underwent a kidney transplant five years ago.
He said, “Back in 2009 I developed blurred vision and a headache I couldn’t shake it off. Just days later I was introduced to a nephrologist – a kidney expert – who told me that my kidneys were operating at 13% and I would need a transplant immediately. My sister, Brenda, graciously stepped up and offered her kidney, and after a five-hour operation and five days of recovery, we were both released with the operation a total success.”
He added, “I’d like to use the Pet Friendly house project as a way to promote not only pet ownership, but also the need for organ donations. Transplants truly save lives, and many people waiting on transplant lists are not as lucky as I was when it comes to finding a match. I hope the Pet Friendly House, when it’s up and running, will attract plenty of attention for this worthy cause, and encourage plenty of people to sign up for organ donation if they can.”
The huge project is currently in the planning phase with construction scheduled to start in a few months. The custom-built home will showcase a multitude of pet-friendly features and act as a show home to the public and the media with a slew of entertaining attractions. Once the home has been open for 30 days, it will be closed and sold off, and 50% of all the proceeds will be split between the Canadian Kidney Foundation, Pound Rescue Okotoks Alberta, Autism Assistance Dog Guides and Behind the Smile – four worthy charities that deserve every cent.
