Woodbury University Architectural Students
This year’s team, consisting of Miriam Jacobsen, Jung Mi Kim and Conner McPhee, represented the Woodbury School of Architecture in a three-day competition, conducted in February. The team’s design, for a multi-use development they named ECHO.logic 25, seeks to engage surrounding foot-traffic through a perforated façade: http://www.labusinesscouncil.org/
The win is particularly impressive given the strength of competing teams, including students from the University of Southern California; Otis College of Art and Design; University of California, Los Angeles; California State University, Long Beach; California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; and Southern California Institute of Architecture.
Work by winners Jacobsen and McPhee, along with that of about a dozen other recent graduates, will be on display at Woodbury School of Architecture’
The student work on display will represent graduate and undergraduate programs in architecture and interior architecture, from the university’s Los Angeles and San Diego locations. Next door to the student exhibition, the Woodbury University Hollywood Outpost (WUHO) booth will be hosting workshops on all three days of the Dwell event. Ranging from mapping to screen printing to Arduino and beyond, the workshops will give a sense of the energy and experimentation that permeate the school.
“This year’s winning project at the LABC awards exemplifies the high level of innovative problem-solving that undergirds our curriculum,”
“This prestigious award showcases talent today and points to enormous potential for tomorrow -- we’re thrilled for both our students and our institution,”
