PRLog - Jun. 20, 2014 - NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- 22Visionz Entertainment President Teron Carter marked a recent milestone in his career as one-half of the two-time Grammy nominated Christian Hip Hop/Rap group, GRITS. Gotee Records recently announced via press release the RIAA’s Digital Gold Certification for the GRITS song, “Ooh Ahh,” featuring TobyMac, which has over 500,000 downloads and on-demand streams.
The RIAA Digital Gold Certification for “Ooh Ahh” makes GRITS the first Christian Hip Hop/Rap group to receive digital song certification since the RIAA began adding digital streams to its Gold & Platinum Program in May 2014.
“It’s awesome to be a part of God’s plan and to be able to do something that no one else has done,” Carter said.
Carter is a five-time Dove Award winner along with his GRITS partner, Stacy "Coffee" Jones. In 2010, after 12 GRITS projects, Carter took a hiatus from the music industry to spend more time with his family. He also took this time to refocus his aspirations as a music executive and artist.
Carter re-emerged in 2012 as President of the independent company, 22Visionz Entertainment, based in Tennessee. 22Visionz is the home of the flagship international recording artist T-Ran Gilbert.
“I like being able to make history, and that’s what we’re striving to do at 22Visionz,” Carter said.
Carter has joined Gilbert on the Live And Not Die (L.A.N.D.) Tour 2014, which kicked off in Nashville on April 8 in Nashville, TN. The tour is sponsored by 22Visionz Entertainment, Feed The Children nonprofit, and Jam The Hype 24/7 Online Radio and is planned to run through the end of the year. Tour dates are available at www.T-RanGilbert.com.
