People’s Action Against Rapes in India (PAARI)

AHMEDABAD, India - June 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Would we wake up when 6 billion citizens of the world will ask us Is India safe to travel?

Shalabh Mittal, a faculty in Development Studies & Social Entrepreneurship with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India asks us this question in lieu of the recent spurt in Rape cases across India. His question is the beginning of a campaign against rapes and rapists, a campaign that will drive the country, the judiciary & the government to take firm and stern action to make our country safe for women within and visiting India. This letter is just the beginning of a nationwide campaign & an open letter to every citizen of India to wake, take stalk & to take severe action against rapists.

This article is the first step to the launch of PAARI as a campaign to make India safe for women. Mr. Shalabh Mittal through this campaign, is striving to achieve the folowing measures to counter this problem. In view of the launch of Campaign PAARI, Mr. Mittal says, "Rape is the worst sexual abuse against women. It is a very heinous and brutal act & the perpetrators need to be punished in an equally brutal manner."

1. Improvement in sanitation facilities in rural parts of India

2. More stringent laws & punishments for rapists

3. Women should come out & report rapes and not be the silent sufferer

4. Pressure on Government & creating threat to their revenues

5. Educate & sensitize men towards women issues

6. Police need to work with public to prevent such cases

7. Special fast track courts in every district
