Twenty years ago, the deregulation of retail banking in Greece, along with the rapid growth of the market worldwide, made the integration of new technologies imperative for the competitive growth of the country’s banking industry. This need also marked the launch of Mellon Technologies, which from its very beginning aimed at providing specialized technological solutions that would meet the growing demand of banks to rapidly expand their retail network and drive faster time-to-market for their products.
Gradually, Mellon Technologies developed into a reliable source for innovation and cutting edge solutions in the area of transactions, addressing the needs of businesses with strong consumer business outside the financial sector. At the same time, following the market demand for more flexible structures and increased productivity, the company invested in the development of a new business activity, that of outsourcing, with outsourced Call Center services and Business Process Management services as its key pillars.
The company’s growth has soon surpassed the geographical boundaries of Greece. From 2000, when its first subsidiary was founded in Cyprus, until today, the company has expanded its activities by making direct investments in Central and Southeastern Europe. All this, led to the creation of a multinational group of 17 companies, with more than 2500 employees and presence in Greece, Cyprus, Albania, FYROM, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Poland, and Ukraine, as well as offices in Turkey and Egypt for future development.
Today, Mellon Technologies remains committed to innovation, with a key focus on digital transactions, investing in the development of solutions and applications around smart devices and contactless payments, entering into vertical markets with solutions such as unattended payments at gas stations, and providing specialized outsourcing services for merchant acquiring and managed services. At the same time, the company continues to invest at group level to strengthen its market share as an expert integrator and further improve its Call Center and Business Process Management services across the region.

2008 Installation of the first in store bank cards personalization system (instant issuing) in Ukraine
2011 First large implementation of queuing systems for the Social Security Organization of Poland
2012 Delivery –for the first time in the country- of prepaid cards in FYROM
2012 Installation of the first touch screen ATM in Bulgaria
2013 Implementation of the first large-scale contactless payments projects in Greece and Cyprus in 2012 and 2013 respectively
