PRLog - June 18, 2014 - CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Collecting food for the hungry in Northeast Iowa is PODS and WMT Radio’s priority this week. PODS of Iowa will be accumulating food items by providing a PODS container stationed WMT Radio Broadcast Park for Eastern Iowa’s Food Bank benefiting HACAP Food Reservoir. Cedar Rapids residents are encouraged to bring in canned foods and non-perishable food items beginning Wednesday, June 18 through Friday, June 20.
Eastern Iowa Food Bank provides nutritious food and grocery products to nonprofit organizations and individuals in Northeast Iowa, while offering hunger education programs to the community and those in need. The food collected during the food drive will be transferred to HACAP Food Reservoir, a member of Feed America, that channels donated products to area soup kitchens, pantries, senior and daycare centers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, homeless shelters and other nonprofit food programs that feed the needy.
