Columbia Project -600
Located 1 mile south of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, Tierra Bomba Island has approximately 10.000 inhabitants. The People of Tierra Bomba, are descendants of slaves that claimed the island as home. The island has beautiful beaches and great ocean life around it, making it a place with great potential for touristic activities and attractions. Even though the island has such great potential, it also lacks the many necessities that we are accustomed to in the U.S.A and in other parts of the world, such as clean water, quality schools, education, quality health care and more. That is why Cerbelellum®
To some the word spring break vacation indicates fun in the sun, while to others spring break 2014, will have a different meaning. This spring Cerebellum® H2O and Bot-O-Cap® teamed up with Twelve Bit Media and world famous DJ/Model Danyelle “Tyger Lilly” Vilmenay, founder of the youth empowerment “Power Picnic Project” to support, The Tierra Bomba Bottle Project by helping build new homes from plastic bottles.
According to Al Samson, Cerebellum® H2O, being able to find ways to help upcycle the plastic waste is something that is very important to Cerebellum® H2O. The Tierra Bomba Bottle Project is not only helping the environment it is also helping lives. The project is creating new opportunities in the island through art, health education, and it’s something that is sustainable. Samson hopes that more and more companies will join in to help just like Bot-O-Cap®, who helped provide fortified nutritional beverages to the people of Tierra Bomba.
Being that it was spring break, the people of the island were also treated to a one of a kind party hosted DJ/Model Danyelle “Tyger Lilly” Vilmenay, making this a spring break to remember by all. Having had a successful trip, future plans are on the way to help build more homes, as well as other much needed infrastructures, using plastic bottles & recycled waste materials from the island.
