By: IntegraCare Construction crews finished the job as two walls came down to make room for the much-anticipated addition of a memory care community at Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone. The project is expected to be completed this fall. “Dementia impacts so many people, their family members and care givers throughout our region,” said Danielle Corrigan, Executive Director of Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone. “In the past, the need for dementia beds in this area has exceeded the actual number of beds. We will address this issue with the addition of our memory care community. We will continue the tradition of excellent memory care throughout the IntegraCare system.” IntegraCare, based in Wexford, has 11 senior living communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland, with nearly all of those including memory care programs. “It’ The initial phase of the renovations includes converting three rooms into a common living space and dining area for the future memory care unit. The two walls were removed to open the area. “The memory care unit will be an important addition for our residents and future residents,” said Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone’s Vienna Rice, who will be the Memory Care Coordinator. “Our team is trained in memory care, and our commitment to our residents remains our No. 1 priority.” End
