BOULDER, Colo. - June 17, 2014 - PRLog -- The first day of tickets onsale, combined with last weekend’s presale, brought a record amount of interest in rugby in the United States, as officials announced sales to date have eclipsed 30,000, over half of the total capacity for the historic USA Eagles’ match against the New Zealand All Blacks, presented by AIG, at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill., Nov. 1.

“We are very pleased with the tremendous interest in the match, and hope that those fans who want to  join us November 1 don’t wait too long, as we have a limited number of tickets remaining after just one day of sales,” said USA Rugby Chief Executive Officer Nigel Melville. “Monday  was a great testament to the rising interest in the sport, and our match will be one that no sports fan will want to miss.”

"As a global sponsor of rugby, we are very excited to see how the sport is expanding here in the United States," said AIG Global Head of Sponsorship Danny Glantz. "The response in the first 24 hours of ticket sales enhances what we already knew, that this match will be one of the premier sporting events in 2014 for both the rugby supporter and the casual fan wanting to learn more, and will serve as another great milestone for the game, the city of Chicago and for our company."

“Our business philosophy is simple, create world class partnerships with relevant and targeted content that both the public and brands will embrace, and support those events with a best-in-class business team,” said Mike Principe, Legacy Agency CEO. “This is a classic example of that philosophy; aligning a city with a history of hosting great events and a global sport on the rise. We are very optimistic that this matchup will be one that both casual and die hard sports and entertainment fans have mark on their calendar as ‘must-attend’ for this coming fall, and the numbers after one day certainly back that up.”

Remaining tickets for the match are on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets. Visit http://usavallblacks.com/ for all news and ticket links.

The All Blacks will visit the United States for an international match for the first time since 1980. The Eagles have only met the two-time and reigning IRB Rugby World Cup champions three times since their inception over 100 years ago.

NBC will provide live broadcast coverage of the match in Chicago, which kicks off at 3:00 P.M. CT Nov. 1. The Legacy Agency is the exclusive worldwide commercial agent for the match.
