GAINESVILLE, Fla. - June 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Marihelen Wheeler, Democratic candidate for the US House of Representatives will host a forum to speak to and hear from Gainesville area small businesses.  The event will take place at the Brew Spot Cafe in Gainesville.

"Small businesses make up a huge percentage of Gainesville area employers, they are critical to our local and national economy and as such we need to do as much as we can to help them succeed," says Wheeler. "Too often, it feels as if the government issues decrees without hearing from the entrepreneurs who built this country.  That's why we all laugh at 'I'm from the government, I am here to help.'  If elected, I am not going to be that kind of representative and I am not going to be that kind of candidate."

What:  Small Business Forum

Where: Brew Spot Cafe, 1000 NE 16th Avenue, Gainesville

When: Tuesday, June 17th at 6:00 pm.

Marihelen Wheeler is a Democratic candidate for the US House of Representatives from Florida's third Congressional District.  She is a long time teacher and human rights/environmental activist.  She lives in Gainesville with her husband, Dr. Paul Wheeler.
