2013 is the 10-year anniversary of RAPEX. With the exception of 2011, the number of RAPEX notifications has steadily increased since its creation.

In 2013, 2,364 products presenting a risk to the health and safety of consumers were reported through the RAPEX, which corresponds to a 3.8% rise in dangerous products notifications.
RAPEX Report – Most Notified Product Categories
The most notified product categories (Figure 2) and risk categories (Figure 3) have also been the five top product and risks categories in the Rapex in previous years. This is explained by the high volumes of consumption and supply of these products, which increase the chances of finding dangerous products. Most dangerous products and most vulnerable consumers are also focused on by national authorities’
