NR Road Racing Plans Glow in the Night 5k in Detroit

DETROIT - June 16, 2014 - PRLog -- NR Road Racing will hold a Glow in the Night 5k on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 8:00 pm to help support the Five Points of Hope. The event will be held at Kensington Metropark, Milford Twp, MI  48380. Race registration is $40 for individuals and $30 per person for teams of 4 or more. Prices will increase $5 on June 13. There will be a $50 walk up registration fee. All ages are welcome, however, anyone 12 and older must be registered.  If you are not interested in running, we strongly encourage you to volunteer! We take the Glow In The Night 5k to the next level. You will get completely covered in glowrific color dust with friends, family and silly strangers, while focusing more on the fun color and participating in the 5k course, at night, under the cool glow of black lights. Doesn’t matter how fast or old you are to participate in the glow run. The different colors are 100% natural and safe as you can eat the stuff if you want but we don’t suggest it. Wear a white shirt and be prepared to get covered in color. At the end of the three mile course prepare for an after party that will have music and even more color! The goal will be to see how much a person can really be covered in color as every 10 minutes more color will be thrown in the air.

The Five Points of Hope Cancer care fund was created in memory of Michael McCusker and in honor of Beth (friend & survivor). Since the inception of Five Points of Hope, many more family members and friends have dealt with the diagnosis of cancer. Five Points of Hope is a non-profit organization that allows the community to help others in need by participating in annual event fundraisers recognizing that all the proceeds go directly to the Cancer Care Fund.  This allows individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis and having financial difficulties to apply for a grant to assist with their cancer related outstanding bills.
