Follow on Google News | Learn How to Use Social Media to Improve Marketing & Customer Service at FMC's Summer Social MediaFeaturing Keynote by Mashable & Flip Flop Throw Down, FMC's Summer Social Media Boot Camp Attracts Hundreds of Businesses & Nonprofits of All Sizes
"When you know how to use social media effectively, it makes your organization more efficient," noted Jaci Clement, executive director of the Fair Media Council. "I hear from a lot of organizations that they 'can't possibly do one more thing,' and by that they mean they're resistant to using social media because they think it will increase their work load. This boot camp gives everyone, from novice to advanced users, the insight they need to understand how social media is the new standard for marketing and customer service." The event, which runs from 7.30 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, July 11 at Briarcliffe College in Bethpage, N.Y., features five workshops, networking breaks and continental breakfast with the keynote address. In addition to Mashable, a former Disney executive will address the link between social media and customer service. Highly-regarded nonprofit trainer Chris Tuttle, of Tuttle Communications, will provide an overview of how to measure what matters the most when using social media. And, for the true novices in the crowd, FMC offers the workshop, 'Everything You Need to Know About Social Media in 60 Minutes." To see the full program and speakers, please log on to www.fairmediacouncil.org. To round out the full experience that 'social media' is all about being social, the dress code is shorts and flip flops. For fun, FMC's added a flip flop throw down, where the best pair of flip flops will win a prize. The event is also catered by Panera Bread, which is well-known for being the place businesses choose to hang out while working on their laptops. Sponsors include Briarcliffe College, Hofstra University and BigBuzz Marketing Group. Tickets are $115, $90 for FMC members and $65 for students with valid ID. The event sold out last year, so please order tickets early.
