Health VNA Maternal Child Health to Implement Welcome Family Program

June 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Lawrence, MA - Home Health VNA announced today that it has been selected by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) to implement the innovative Welcome Family Program.   Welcome Family offers a one-time nurse home visit to all mothers and newborns in select cities and towns in the Greater Lawrence region of Massachusetts.  The visits, conducted by registered nurses from Home Health VNA’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Department, will be used to assess the health of the mother and the baby, provide education on infant health, well being, nutrition and parenting, and it will serve as a gateway to a larger system of care and support.  The Welcome Family visit is free of charge.
