Find the Pirates of Blackbeard's Crew

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - June 14, 2014 - PRLog -- “A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists,” by Tony Alan Grayson, proposes an answer to what happened to Blackbeard’s crew. The famous pirate and his crew of “The Queen Anne’s Revenge” were attacked by Royal Navy Lieutenant Maynard near Ocracoke Island in the colony of North Carolina in 1724.  Blackbeard and some of his crew of that ship were killed.  The rest were taken back to face piracy charges before the Virginia Royal Governor who send Maynard on his mission.  However, Blackbeard had more loyal seamen than those who served him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge.  At one time, he was the elected leader of a flotilla of four pirate ships.  In “A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists,” https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/265123 author Tony Grayson points out that pirate crews were mostly comprised of skilled seamen and gunners who practiced a form of democracy during the centuries when European nations had no democracy.  A pirate crew elected its captain, and they followed a captain as long as he led them to achieve their goals (usually to gain wealth) and he protected them.  In the case of Blackbeard, crewmen who survived (not aboard Queen Anne’s Revenge) could have elected another captain.  However, the fact that the Royal Governor of Virginia could send a naval force into North Carolina waters to kill pirates even though the Royal Governor of North Carolina signed agreements with Blackbeard, meant that the survivors should lay low and choose their time to emerge from hiding.  Where would they hide out?  In the small waterfront towns and hamlets of North Carolina’s Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds.  If you want to know how they might have emerged from hiding, read the book.  http://youtu.be/ICK8qpv0a30

“A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists,” was awarded a Five Star Rating by Aspiring Writer, with this review:  This story was a thrilling read and artfully told! The first four chapters fed my expectation that I would read about how the Methodists came to Virginia. Then, I read about the pirates of Edenton.  I'm still studying that to see if that part of the story is true, like the Methodist part seems to be. This writer was pretty good at creating some romantic steam too, but with good taste. I can't wait to get the second book in the series!
