“There has never been a more exciting time to visit Covington and we are honored to host this event," stated Mayor Ronnie Johnston.
The all-day event is being coordinated by Main Street Covington and sponsored by a variety of community partners, including General Mills. This event will include music on two stages, including nine bands and performances by “American Idol” runner-up Bo Bice and Covington-native Corey Crowder.
Kids are sure to be entertained with appearances from classic characters like the Trix Bunny and others. “The Kids Zone” is an additional area specifically for the safe entertainment of children with Jumpy’s and a water slide.
Fireworks are set to begin their beautiful array just after dark with Covington’s first all electronically fired show using sophisticated computerized software. The largest shells shooting up to an elevation of 700' and a burst diameter of 210' for nearly 1,000 rounds of large fireworks. Public Safety will be in place to maintain order and keep traffic and parking under control. Handicapped parking will be available.
