IV Edition of LGBT Business Expo Starts in Vallarta-Nayarit

Opening of Largest LGBT Conference in Latin America Attracts Local and International Leaders
 
MANHATTAN, N.Y. - June 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The Fourth edition of the LGBT Business Expo (http://lgbtconfex.com/lgbt-business-expo-2014/), Latin America’s leading LGBT business event, opened in Puerto Vallarta’s Marriott CasaMagna on June 12 with local and international leaders joining the celebration, including Joseph Mark Pomper, US Consulate General in Monterrey, Jalisco State Secretariat of Tourism representative in Puerto Vallarta Ludwing Estrada, Salvador Peña of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, Richard Zarkin of the Riviera Nayarit Tourism Board, representatives of the Mexico Tourism Board and others.

The first day’s event featured a number of presentation by international institutions focusing on the LGBT Market, including “The Business of Change: How Corporations Promote Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Deena Fidas,  “How Cultural Competence Helps Your Bottom Line” by Apoorva N. Gandhi, Marriott International, Inc, “Corporate LGBT Supplier Diversity Programs” by Joanna Dees, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® and “The power of branding: How you can learn from one of the world’s most successful global brands” by Jose Cuervo’s Araceli Ramos Rosaldo.

It is estimated that the conference has brought in about 500 people to the Vallarta-Nayarit area and this will be the first time the conference also offers longer hours for the LGBT consumer to visit the conference.

The IV Edition of the LGBT Business Conference has been a year of many first, becoming the first of its kind to partake at Mexico’s leading tourism conference Tianguis were it also partnered with Osasis Sense Cancun for a private B2B reception. And it is estimated that the conference’s first US and Canadian PR campaign lead by ENroute Communications generated almost 500,000 USD in coverage.

Later in the week, Out Now, the world’s leading LGBT specialist consulting firm, will present some of the findings of their LGBT2020 - the largest global research initiative into LGBT people, which found that Mexico’s 5.2 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people earned USD$74.4billion during the past year.
