PHOENIX - June 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Jennings, Haug & Cunningham is pleased to announce that attorney Russell Yurk  has been appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court as a Public Member of the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee.  Mr. Yurk’s three-year term will commence on July 1, 2014.

Mr. Yurk’s practice is primarily focused on professional liability, complex civil litigation, and lawyer discipline.  He regularly represents attorneys and other professionals in professional liability and discipline matters and also represents clients in large-exposure cases involving environmental claims, commercial litigation, and product liability.  Mr. Yurk is a member of the State Bar of Arizona’s Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct and also serves as Chair of DRI’s Lawyers’ Professionalism & Ethics Committee.

The Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee was organized in 1976 by the Arizona Supreme Court.  It renders advisory opinions on the Code of Judicial Conduct, financial reporting requirements for judges, and any other requirement imposed by law on judges or candidates for judicial office.  It may also render opinions interpreting the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, propose amendments to the Code of Judicial Conduct, and recommend appropriate subjects for judicial education programs.  Committee members are appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court.

Mr. Yurk has received an AV Preeminant® rating from Martindale Hubbell.  He has published several works and has spoken at more than 50 seminars on professionalism and ethics.  Mr. Yurk earned his B.A. from Northwestern University and received his J.D. from the College of Law at Arizona State University.
