By: Project iRadio Brophy, who appeared in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and as “Nori” in all of the Hobbit films recounts how his path led him to work with Jackson early on in his career. Brophy recalls growing up on a large sheep and cattle farm and of how he went to college to study Sports Science while doing drama as an elective. Brophy said he loved the freeing experience of being on stage and getting immediate feedback from the audience. Friends encouraged him to go into drama and he did so – to teach, but things changed quickly. “I got bitten by the bug and was lucky enough to hit the industry at a time when there were people like Peter Jackson and other filmmakers who charged in here to make their own story. So, it was good timing – very good timing,” Brophy recalled. He also talks to the “Nerdvana” From early on, Brophy recounts how he and others recognized Jackson’s genius for storytelling on film.
