The awards were presented to Ms. Dzubay by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Program. The Program is one of the longest running programs recognizing creative young writers and artists in the U.S. The program has received nearly 900,000 submissions in the last five years. Submissions are judged on originality, technical skill, voice and vision.
Ms. Dzubay was presented the award at Carnegie Hall on June 6. First Lady Michelle Obama opened the ceremony with inspiring words for all award winners. Afterward, a special lighting of the Empire State Building was held to honor the recipients.
“Room 277 is an amazing book and we are incredibly proud that Ms. Dzubay has been recognized by such an esteemed organization,”
