LAKEWOOD, N.J. - June 13, 2014 - PRLog -- As one of the largest local homebuilder’s associations in the state, Shore Builders is proud to announce the recent installation of two local members in leadership positions both locally and at the state level.  Dave Fisher, PP, AICP and John Cummins, both of K. Hovnanian Homes have been installed as President of New Jersey Builders Association and President of Shore Builders Association respectively.  According to Gina Woolley, Executive Officer of Shore Builders Association, “We are so proud to have Dave Fisher as the new President of our state association, along with John Cummins as our local association President.  With their shared vision and leadership for the future of homebuilding in New Jersey, we are confident the industry will continue to grow in strength and numbers.”

With several objectives for his tenure as President of NJBA, Dave Fisher will continue the efforts of past presidents to advance legislative initiatives, like the FAIRR Act, which seeks to reform the escrow and inspection fees charged by towns to developers.  He will also assist the NJ Legislature in new affordable housing regulations, which until a recent Supreme Court decision, had been stalled.  Dave also has plans to dovetail the work of the builders association with other allied organizations in the form of a joint task force to streamline the land use process in our state.  According to Fisher, “Despite all of its challenges, what we do as an industry for New Jersey’s homeowners and the state’s economy is a very respectable profession.  The business of home building represents the backbone of our way of life and I am very proud to be leading the association as its 61st President.”

John Cummins shares Dave’s sentiments as the vision and goals for his time as President of Shore Builders.  In addition to assisting with legislative issues affecting homebuilders in New Jersey, Cummins will focus on creating a conduit to the public and connecting homeowners with builders and service providers by positioning the association as a community resource, particularly for those homeowners who continue to recover from Hurricane Sandy.  Through member education and best practices of building processes, along with community outreach, Cummins is looking forward to growing the association.  “By offering contractors, builders and associates the benefit of collective strength at the state level, along with increased benefits such as a healthcare program, education and product rebates, we are looking forward to growing our membership further.  We seek to attract younger building professionals as the future leaders of our industry to continue in our traditions while introducing new and better ways to provide quality, affordable homeownership at the New Jersey shore.”
