GeoComm Releases Spatial Information Function White Paper at the 2014 National NENA Conference

PRLog - Jun. 12, 2014 - SAINT CLOUD, Minn. -- St. Cloud, MN: Agencies across the country are beginning to implement Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) systems that require robust, industry standard Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  GeoComm has experience implementing these projects and is releasing a Spatial Information Function (SIF) white paper next week at the 2014 Annual National NENA Conference and Expo in Nashville, Tennessee.  A SIF is a specialized form of GIS and is an important component of an NG9-1-1 system.

GIS data in NG9-1-1 is a mission critical asset and the accuracy and timeliness of GIS data updates is a growing concern.  Through the implementation of a SIF, the continual GIS updates necessary in an NG9-1-1 system can be addressed.  This white paper explains what you need to know about a NENA i3 SIF and the role of it in a NG9-1-1 system.  Stop by GeoComm Booth Number 301 at National NENA to learn more about a SIF and pick up a copy of the white paper.

In addition to releasing the SIF white paper, GeoComm is also exhibiting at the conference and presenting at several breakout sessions.  In our booth, we will demonstrate GeoLynx Server which seamlessly connects Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), responding agencies, and field responders, and our presentations highlight several important GIS topics.  For more information on our breakout presentations and the projects associated with them, visit http://www.geo-comm.com/national-nena-conference.
